Financial rules change, preliminary figures become final, and we sometimes get something wrong. This page records material corrections that could change a calculation or a reader's understanding.

Typos and purely stylistic edits are not listed. Our sourcing and review standards are described in the methodology.

2026 SALT deduction limit and phase-down thresholds

Affected: SALT deduction calculator and related tax explanations

Updated the 2026 limit to $40,400 ($20,200 if married filing separately), the MAGI phase-down thresholds to $505,000 / $252,500, and the statutory floors to $10,000 / $5,000. Earlier copy used preliminary values.

2026 conforming mortgage loan limits

Affected: Jumbo loan calculator and mortgage explanations

Updated the one-unit national baseline conforming loan limit to $832,750 and the high-cost ceiling to $1,249,125. Earlier copy incorrectly carried forward the $806,500 baseline for 2025 as though it applied to 2026.

2026 Medicare Part B premium and IRMAA amounts

Affected: Medicare Part B premium and IRMAA history pages

Replaced a Trustees Report projection with the final 2026 standard Part B premium of $202.90, annual deductible of $283, and applicable IRMAA amounts. The top Part B surcharge is $487.00, producing a $689.90 total monthly premium.

2025 and 2026 federal tax descriptions

Affected: Tax-bracket history, glossary, and calculator explanations

Updated the 2025 standard deduction to $15,750 single / $31,500 married filing jointly / $23,625 head of household and corrected copy that described 2026 bracket thresholds as frozen. The 2026 thresholds are inflation-adjusted.

Scenario URL and analytics privacy

Affected: Interactive calculators, preset links, and cross-calculator handoffs

Current calculator changes now stay in memory until a visitor explicitly copies or follows a scenario link. Those links use a browser fragment rather than a query string. Legacy query variants remain readable but receive a noindex response, and analytics page locations and events omit query strings, fragments, input values, and calculated results.
