Acceptance of Terms
By accessing and using PennyCalc (pennycalc.com), you agree to these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, please do not use the site. We may update these terms at any time; continued use after changes constitutes acceptance.
What PennyCalc Provides
PennyCalc provides free, browser-based financial calculators for educational and informational purposes. Our tools cover mortgages, compound interest, taxes, retirement planning, debt payoff, and related topics.
Not Financial Advice
PennyCalc is not a financial advisor, tax advisor, CPA, attorney, or licensed professional of any kind. All calculator results are estimates based on the inputs you provide and the mathematical formulas implemented. They may not reflect your actual financial situation due to factors including but not limited to:
- Changes in tax law, interest rates, or market conditions
- Individual circumstances not captured by our inputs (deductions, credits, exemptions)
- Rounding, simplification, or modeling assumptions in our formulas
- State and local tax variations beyond what our calculators cover
Always consult a qualified financial professional, tax advisor, or attorney before making financial decisions. Calculator results should be one input among many in your decision-making process, not the sole basis for any financial action.
Accuracy and Limitations
We strive for mathematical accuracy and test our calculators against known values. However, we make no warranty that results are error-free or suitable for any specific purpose. Tax brackets, Social Security figures, contribution limits, and other data points reflect publicly available information at the time of the last update (shown on each page). These figures change annually and may be outdated.
If you believe you have found an error in any calculator, please contact us. We take accuracy seriously and will investigate promptly.
Privacy and Data
Calculator computations run in your browser. Some features, such as a scenario-sharing link, may place values in the URL so that you can choose to copy and share them. We do not operate user accounts or a database of calculator scenarios. For details on URLs, server logs, analytics, cookies, and third-party services, see our Privacy Policy.
Affiliate Links and Advertising
PennyCalc may use display advertising or compensated links to third-party financial products and services. These programs are not necessarily active at all times. When a compensated link is enabled and you take a qualifying action, we may earn a commission at no additional cost to you.
Affiliate relationships do not influence our calculator math or the content of our educational materials. We disclose affiliate relationships on each page where they appear. Product availability, terms, and rates are determined by the third-party provider and may change without notice.
Intellectual Property
PennyCalc's original text, calculator code, design, and graphics are protected by copyright. Third-party material remains subject to its owner's rights and terms. You may use our calculators for personal, non-commercial purposes and may reuse material only as allowed by the license stated on the relevant page or in the section below. You may not:
- Copy, reproduce, or redistribute our calculator code or other unlicensed content without permission
- Scrape, crawl, or systematically download content except through download tools we provide
- Frame or embed PennyCalc pages except through an embed tool we provide
- Use PennyCalc's name, logo, or branding to imply endorsement
Data and Chart Licensing
PennyCalc's original downloadable chart artwork is licensed under the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International license (CC BY 4.0), subject to the complete license conditions. Those conditions include crediting PennyCalc, linking to the PennyCalc source page and the CC BY 4.0 license, and indicating whether you made changes.
This chart license covers only PennyCalc's original visual design and presentation. It does not license the underlying facts or source data, third-party marks, or PennyCalc's name, logo, wordmark, or other branding.
Downloadable datasets may combine public facts, third-party source material, and PennyCalc-created calculations, organization, or annotations. Each dataset page identifies its sources. Source-specific rights and terms still apply, and PennyCalc grants no rights in material it does not own. The exact reusable scope and attribution requirements are stated in the permanent Data and Chart License v1.0; dataset structured data and visible page disclosures link to that same version.
Relevant source terms include the Freddie Mac Content Use Policy, FRED Terms of Use, BLS copyright and public-domain guidance, and Damodaran data use guide.
